Amazing Wood Fired Pizza @ Alessio, Solaris Dutamas

Publika, never fall short of eateries. My latest discovery with my foodies pals bring me to Alessio which offer a good variety of Italian & Fusion foods. Today, I'll be featuring their latest new offerings.

The interior are brightly lit and cosy with selection of wine available.

Starters

Paradiso RM19.00

Fruit cocktail salad served with fresh coconut water.
Refreshing fruits salad, a tad sourish... but you could just tame it down with the fresh coconut water.

Lava Grilled Black Pepper Lamb Kebabs RM15.00
Must try! I love how the lamb done just right, so juicy. Capsicum not my kind of vegetable usually, surprisingly grilled capsicum palatable to me.

With crispy bacon, duck confit, sundried tomato, olives & fresh orange
Must try! Truly enjoyed the crispy bacon with al dente pasta. Generous portion, so ladies might wanna share this instead.

Spicy Chicken Pizza RM25.00

Ohhh.. I love the pizza crust here. So light and crispy, perfect for those on low-carb diet. The toppings are great and flavourful, however I would prefer it a little more generous with cheese though.

Charocoal grilled salmon done 2 ways in miso butter and teriyaki sauce served with crispy golden enoki and customer choice of garlic egg fried rice or kampong ikan bilis fried rice.

Brilliant fragrant fried rice served with 2 generous slices of salmon. I find the salmon slight overcooked and dries out. You would definitely enjoy the crispy fried golden enoki. So addictive....

Coconut Island King RM28.00
XL King prawn saute in curry leaves and salted egg surrounded in dreamy coconut sauce infused with birds eye chillis served with crispy Vienna milk bun.
Fresh and succulent prawn, you'll love it's creamy and flavourful sauce, not too spicy at all.

Tuscan Lamb Shank RM49.00
Tender slow roasted lamb shank in Tuscan ratatouille served with creamy mashed potatoes.

Basmati Nasi Lemak Muhibbah

House special Nasi Lemak Muhibbah! RM28.00

Served with ayam goreng berempah, butter tiger prawn and kari ikan tenggiri.
Again, huge portion! You got the chicken, prawn and even fish on top of the usual Nasi Lemak condiments. Still I find using Basmathi for Nasi Lemak might be a little too adventurous.

Twin Naked Lobster Thermidor RM168.00
Truly delectable house fresh lobster made 2 ways in cheesy termidor sauce encrusted in molten 3 cheese & naked at its best grilled with French butter.
Succulent and bouncy texture done in 2 ways, my preferences will be the molten 3 cheese rich flavour. Naked is rather plain.

Desserts! Creme brulee with serving of fruits.

First row - Tropical Paradise RM13.90

Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Lychee, Longan & Grenadine.

I had the Tropical Paradise and find it a tad sweet to my liking.

Middle row - Italian Passion RM11.90

Passion fruit, Lychee, Jasmine Tea, Fresh Mint Leaf.

Last row - Alessio's Special Mocktail Marilyn Monroe RM9.90

My verdict : Generous portion at an affordable price. Must try the amazing sour dough wood fire pizza!!!

CITARASA TIMUR KE BARAT @ CINNAMON COFFEE HOUSE, ONE WORLD HOTEL

This Ramadhan, treat yourselves and family to Malaysia’s unique and multi-cultural food heritage nightly buffet dinner as Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel, is transformed into a bazaar with live action stalls offering a myriad of tastes from the states around the country.

Feel free to take your pick from over 100 delicacies with six menus rotated daily, prepared by the hotel’s dedicated culinary team led by Executive Sous Chef, Saiful Bahrain Abdul Wahid, fondly known as Chef Bob. Be sure to look out for the all time favourite Sup Gearbox, Bubur Lambuk, Daging Dendeng and Pulut Serawa Durian that tickles the taste buds and tempts the senses. Other gem that is sure to be treasured by food connoisseurs are the Rojak Pasembur, assorted Kerabu, Ikan Panggang Percik, Ayam Rendang Minang and Sotong Kalio to name a few.

At the grill section, you can select your seafood and get it grilled by the Chef.

Some of my favourite dishes includes the excellent Sup Gearbox, flavourful bubur lambuk, fresh sashimi and the awesome satay.

There’s nothing like a sweet ending to any meal and at Cinnamon Coffee House, the options are plentiful. Desserts range from luscious cakes, dainty French pastries to traditional treats like Sago Gula Melaka, Bubur Nangka, Ais Cendol, Ais Kacang and many more.

The 'Citarasa Timur Ke Barat' is priced at RM158.00 per adult and RM79.00 per children aged 4 – 12 years old throughout this Ramadhan (Prices are in Ringgit Malaysia and inclusive of 10% service charge and 6% goods and services tax). Stay Healthy and Look Beautiful This Ramadhan with Guardian's Regime and Tips

The holy month of Ramadhan is here finally! Guardian, the leading pharmacy, health and beauty retailer launched it's annual health and beauty campaign to help customers stay healthy and look good throughout Ramadhan and Hari Raya festival that follows.

Ramadhan is a time when Muslims across the world fast during the hours of daylight. In our hot climate country, the heat and humidity could take a toll on the body and fatigue often sets in.

This year, with the theme "Sihat dan Anggun Sempena Aidilfitri" the campaign continues to raise awareness and educate customers on how they can maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle during the month-long fast, culminating in the festive celebrations. In particular, Guardian has identified and offers a wide range of health, beauty and wellness products that would meet customer's needs.

To kick-start this campaign, members of the media were treated to a variety of activities.

We learned how to eat healthy and stay active during Ramadhan with Siti Aishah (Assistant Manager Retail).

It's best to refrain from drinking sweetened beverages and not to stuff yourself with foods during breaking-fast . It's best to have supper too during this period.

Malaysia’s The Paranormal Zone takes on South East Asia (Season 3)

Fans of the paranormal will definitely be thrilled as the daredevil and dynamic host Li Kim is back with more thrilling investigations of the paranormal world. The highly anticipated Season Three (3) of The Paranormal Zone premieres on 15th June, Monday at 10.50pm on Syfy HD, HyppTV Channel 611 and the HyppTV Everywhere mobile app will seeLi Kim venture into Malaysia and South East Asia, bringing audiences extraordinary experiences from investigating the ancient art of mysticism in Indonesia and venturing into the enigmatic culture and beliefs of the modern Singapore.

After two (2) seasons of thrilling adventures and uncanny meetings with more than the third kind, Season 3 of The Paranormal Zone is back with more exciting investigations from Asia, allowing audiences to take a closer look at the emotional stories behind hauntings, possessions and exorcism. In this season, Li Kim also traverses into the kingdoms of cryptozoology and outer space as well as possessions and exorcisms in Malaysia.
